VEI POWER DISTRIBUTION

GENERAL INFORMATION The UNISARC series of VEI swtchgeaqr are composed of prefabricated air insulated metal frames. They are metal enclosed and provided with air-insulated switch disconnectors. According to the growing requests for distribution of power supply in towns and industrial centers, priority has been given by VEI POWER to the way in which different kinds of cubicles can be coupled and existing substations can be enlarged.

APPLICATION RANGES
The application ranges of the UNISARC switchboards of VEI Distribution are basically as follows:
- secondary distribution
- transformer substations
The UNISARC cubicleof VEI switchgear range, thanks to their reduced dimensions, can be installed in prefabricated compact, mobile or underground substations

TEST REPORTS
UNISARC VEI switchgear have successfully passed all the type tests requested by the international Standards (IEC, VDE, CEI, CINESE GB 3804-90) in officially acknowledged testing laboratories.

STANDARDS
Compliance with IEC Standards 298, 265.1, 420, CEI 17-6 section 2056. ENEL homologation to specifications DY 402, 403, 404, 406, 408.

QUALITY SYSTEM
The Quality Assurance System of VEI Power ensures that the whole manufacturing process conforms to a high and constant quality level. Before being delivered, each VEI switchgear or cubicle is carefully tested and checked in the factory testing laboratories as regards both its mechanical and electrical features. These tests include the routine tests, which are prescribed in compliance with the CEI 17-6 IEC 298 Standards.

SWITCH DISCONNECTOR AND EARTHING SWITCH
The UNISARC switchboard of VEI Distribution series make use of the ISARC switch disconnector to the sliding vertical type. The ISARC switch disconnectors series are separated poles three-pole apparatus. Mounted on a single frame made of properly bent sheet steel to obtain the utmost stiffness, on which 6 cycle-aliphatic epoxy resin cylinders supporting the interruption unit are accommodated. The open/close mechanical sequences are operated by:
- switch disconnector operating shaft (ref.4)
- earthing switch shaft (ref.5)
(which are suitably interlocked)

MAIN FEATURES OV UNISARC VEI SWITCHGEAR

Easy installation
The reduced dimensions and weight of the VEI switchgear cubicles made by VEI Power enable the user to have an easy handling and prompt commissioning. The cubicles can be installed against walls and assembled in substation because the mechanical connection points are easily accessible from the front. The “TF” transformer cubicles are delivered by VEI Distribution dismantled with accessories and assembly instructions to make transport and installation easier.

User-friendly operation
Each operating mechanism is equipped with a mimic layout showing the position of the switch disconnector contacts and the sense of rotation to work in safe conditions. To complete the explanations dedicated to each module, an additional plate is applied to the door of all VEI switchgear providing a step-by- step description of the sequences to follow for an easy and safe operation.

Earthing
The main earthing busbar, located on the front side at the bottom of the cubicle, is gauged with regards to the short circuit current function 50÷120 mm2 and the connection between cubicles is carried out by means of a hinge, placed on each cubicle right side of VEI switchgear, to which the earth connections of each switch disconnector, the terminal screens and anything else that shall be put to earth, are connected. All hinged doors are earthed by means of copper braids or flexible cords, whereas all other components of the metal frame are connected to the structure and then earthed by means of special screws assembled in VEI Power factory.

Cubicle compartments segregation
The switch-disconnector type ISARC of VEI Power, consists of a stainless steel metal structure and of six insulators which support the fixed and moving contacts. It is positioned, inside the cubicle, so as to form two compartments completely segregated between them. The upper one is called bus-bar compartment and the lower one cable compartment. This particular type of construction guarantees complete protection for the personnel in the case of maintenance or replacement operations to be carried out, for example, in the cable or in the fuses compartment, even with live bus-bars. For assistance on VEI switchgear call VEI Power or VEI Distribution.

Possibility to inspect the equipment with closed door
Two polycarbonate windows, electrically shielded against flashovers due to electrostatic charges and placed in appropriate positions, enabling sight inspection of all isolated parts, earthing, fuse conditions and cable terminals.

CONSTRUCTIONAL FEATURES OF VEI SWITCHGEAR

Metal frame
Each module is composed of a supporting frame made of welded and bolted, press bent steel sheet suitable to bear short-circuit dynamic stresses and the usual transport and commissioning operations. The two parts rear closures are riveted, however they allow the immediate opening from the bottom in case of faults on cables. This is made in VEI Power factory. The front panels covering the busbar compartment, can be unbolted from the outside. The access doors to the equipment of VEI Distribution are hinged. Each cubicle is usually subdivided into two or three compartments:
- upper compartment housing the busbars
- lower equipment compartment housing the switch-disconnector the earthing switch, the measure transformers, the circuit-breaker, etc. according to the kind of cubicle
- Instrument compartment placed on the upper front side of the cubicle.

Power circuit
The main busbars, and the earth circuit connectors are made of bare electrolytic flat copper with rounded off edgesmanufatcured in VEI switchgear factory. All busbars are so dimensioned to withstand thermal and dynamic stresses caused by shortcircuit currents. The busbar rated current is 400 A, 630 A, 800 A, 1250 A, whereas the rated current is 400 or 630 A, for the switch disconnector and for the disconnector.

Material treatment
VEI Power study of electric fields allows to obtain the dielectric withstand by means of air insulation, for this reason no insulating material is used. Where it is not physically possible to use only air (post insulators, supporting insulators, etc.) epoxy resin components are used by VEI Distribution, manufactured in our VEI switchgear factory and tested at our labs in VEI Power. All steel sheets composing the cubicle are subject to a treatment cycle: degreasing and hot phosphating followed by epoxy powder coating, polymerized in oven at 180°, colour RAL 7030, bossy and semiglossy Minimum thickness 40 micron. The top cover the rear wall, the segregation plate and other internal steel sheets such as the casing, the wiringduct, closing steel sheets, etc. are zinc. Bolts and nuts are zinc-passivated class 8.8.All the processed is made in VEI Distribution factory in Italy.

FUNCTIONAL FEATURES OF VEI SWITCHGEAR
All equipment installed inside the VEI switchgear cubicles (switch-disconnectors, circuit- breakers and fuses) are removable to make maintenance operations and replacements easier. All operations are carried out from the front of the switchboard. Mechanical interlocks assure the right sequence of operations and prevent any possibility of contact with live parts. The circuit-breaker is usually assembled on the truck and can be unbolted and isolated to make maintenance operations and/or replacements easier.

Protection degree
- Towards the outside IP 3X TF cubicles excluded, which are IP 2X
- Towards the inside IP 2X
- Operating temperature -5 +40 °C

FLOOR FIXING OF VEI SWITCHGEAR
The module must be bolted to the floor with four M10 bolts. Foundations are equal for all modules, the passage width (see diagram) is the maximum allowed, but can be reduced according to cable size.
For any information about characteristics, dimensions and performances of
the ISARC switch see catalogue.

Air Cleaning

Air (and water) purification systems oriented to improve health and reduce energy costs through a revolutionary method of purification that uses "immobilized cells." With the creation of an air zone electrically neutral and thanks to the use of an organic additive, you can create the equivalent of a clean room class 10 (ISO 5) with a considerable decrease in the air of the suspended particles (including ultra thin particulates), gaseous (including volatile organic components) and biological (including viruses and must).

Security Fog Cannon for company asset protection

A traditional alarm system, even if of the last generation, has the function to warn when there is an ongoing criminal event. The space-time that elapses between the beginning of the event and the reaction of someone is enough for thieves to carry out the theft. On the other side, the Fog Cannon device reacts together with the attempted theft and prevents the criminal to act undisturbed within your company. It is also is compatible with all existing alarm systems and will therefore not be necessary to replace the existing alarm system. The liquid contained in the tank is non-toxic, leaves no residue and does not interfere with the contents of the protected space by the fog. IMQ Grade A certification upon request, in addition to CE conformity as per Directive 2006/95/EC<73/23/EEC.
